stars How to claim your business listing on Google

A business listing on Google displays your business information along with the Google search results. An example of how this listing could look like can be found below.
In order to grow the visibility of your property, you may want to make sure that your property’s information is displayed there. On top of that, you can claim the listing so that you have full control over the information that is being presented. To do just that, you can use Google My Business.
Google My Business is a free tool for businesses to manage their online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. To boost traffic to your website, it’s important to ensure that your property has a profile in Google My Business with your official domain listed.

Should you not have a profile yet, we recommend you to set it up and read through the additional information from Google here.

If you already have a Google My Business account you can log in at google.com/business and start editing your property listing immediately. In case you do not have an account yet, you can create it here.
As soon as you are logged in to your Google Account, you will be able to enter the name of your business, the physical address of your business, select a business category (for example: Hotel, Bed and Breakfast, Hostel, etc.), add your contact details and your website address.Your website address should be your WebDirect domain. In the listing a button called ‘website’ will appear (see screenshot). From there, guests will directly be forwarded to your WebDirect site.

Lastly, you will have to verify your business. You will be offered different verification options, depending on the type of business you have selected. Based on Google’s guidelines, you are usually asked to verify your property using a verification code sent via a postcard. Some selected businesses can also be verified by phone, email or Search Console.
After completing all steps online and receiving your postcard, you will be able to review your property information again for a final check. As soon as you finalize reviewing the information and click on ‘Done editing’, you have reached the end of the claiming process. Google provides a detailed step-by-step guide on how to claim your business listing. This guide can be found here.
