CPanel is a common configuration system used by many web hosting and domain providers. This guide will walk you through how to connect your domain with CPanel to your WebDirect website.
Step 1 - Add domain to WebDirect
To connect your domain to your website, you need to add the specific domain name to your WebDirect account. Your domain configuration can be managed on the ‘Domains’ page in the ‘Settings’ tab of WebDirect. In case you need help logging into your WebDirect account, please refer to this article.
Once you are on the ‘Domains’ page in WebDirect. Click on "+Add domain"
Enter your domain www.yourdomain.com (be sure to include ‘www’) and click on ‘Add’. Save your changes by clicking on ‘Save’ in the lower right side of the page.
Step 2 - Set up your 301 redirects.
If you recently purchased your domain please proceed to Step 3 directly.
If you have an existing website under your personalised domain please follow these instructions and then proceed to step 3.
Step 3 - Log in to your Cpanel
To log in to CPanel, you can access the administration platform via a directory linked to your domain. It should be accessible through one of the following links:
Be sure to replace ‘yourdomain’ with your actual domain.
Step 4 - Set up your CNAME record
In order to change your CNAME record, go to the ‘Advanced Zone Editor’ (see screenshot). If this option is not available, you will need to contact your domain provider for support and request to enable it.
Once you have entered the ‘Advanced Zone Editor’, you will see a list of records in the ‘Zone File Records’ section. Look for the column which includes ‘CNAME’ and click on the ‘Edit’ link.
Add ‘suite-sites.booking.com’ in the CNAME field. The TTL value should not be changed from the ‘14400’ value. To save changes, click on the ‘Edit Record’ button.
Step 5 - Set up domain forwarding
Go back to the home menu and select ‘Redirects’ from the ‘Domains’ menu.
In the section ‘Add Redirect’, select and fill out the following fields:
In the ‘Type’ field: Select ‘Permanent (301)’
In the ‘https?://(www.)?’ field: Choose your domain from the drop-down menu
In the ‘/’ field: Keep this field empty – do not add any information

Be sure you save changes by clicking ‘Add’. When the Redirect is successfully added, you will be able to see it in the ‘’Current Redirects’ section (see screenshot below).
Step 6 - Setting your primary domain
As the last step, you need to set your domain name as primary in WebDirect. If you have multiple domains added to your account, only one of your domain names can be selected as primary. Your other domains will then be automatically redirected to your primary domain. Visitors who access your website will always see the primary domain in their browser bar.
In order to set your primary domain, please follow these steps.
Hint: You can only set your domain as primary if you made the necessary changes with your domain provider. If this has not been done, you will receive the error message: “This domain is not ready to be set as your primary. DNS records could take up to 4 hours to update – please try again later’.
