Privacy Policy

Every WebDirect website features a default privacy policy by BookingSuite. This policy is fully compliant with European GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) legislation and automatically translated to all languages available on your WebDirect.

Create your own, custom privacy policy  

You can choose the default BookingSuite privacy policy or create your own privacy policy.

  • To create a custom policy, go to Content > Pages > Privacy policy. Tick ‘Create your own policy’, then save your changes.

A text box will appear, where you can enter your custom policy. Keep in mind that we do not translate this text automatically. You are responsible for adding translations. If you do not, your policy will appear in the language you have written.

Your website’s privacy policy should include the following:

  1. Information collection: Information for your customers about how and what information will be collected such as email addresses,  phone numbers and credit card information. Remember to regularly update and review your privacy policy to be sure it is up-to-date according to your current data collection and handling practices.
  2. Sharing information: If you will be sharing information with anyone such as partners and  affiliates
  3. Effectiveness: Since what date is the policy applicable? This can be as simple as 'Effective as of 1 January 2018'.

IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility to make sure that your privacy policy is compliant with your country, state and regional laws.

  • If your property is using Booking.com rates and availability, Booking.com and BookingSuite Fixed terms will be displayed alongside your customised policy. These terms are not editable.
  • If you use a custom URL for BookingEngine, BookingSuite Fixed terms will be displayed alongside your customised policy. These terms are not editable.

If you do not want to use a custom policy, but you would like to use our Recommended policy you can tick the ‘BookingSuite policy’ option, then save your changes.
